Dominic Fike is the second face of CLASH 132.

It’s been a character building decade for musician, producer and Euphoria actor, Dominic Fike. Raised in Naples, a coastal town located in southwestern Florida, Fike’s bruised, genreless offerings explored the perils of transient living, substance abuse and the trauma of having to grow up too quickly.

Now, we capture Fike beyond the purgatory of his early come up, at a time when his priorities have shifted. Following an acclaimed set Lollapalooza and the debut of his new band, Geezer, with Kevin Abstract, Fike shared his most interior work with the world, coloured and contoured by his experience as a first time father.

Named after his son, ‘Rocket’ is a fragmented soft rock and rap hybrid that distills Fike’s core strengths as a confessional writer across a brisk, concise runtime. It’s a heartfelt journal on growing pains, post-breakup blues and the cavern between the online world and tangible relationships.

In a revealing cover conversation with CLASH - dialled in from a 600-acre farm in upstate New York Fike is busy working on his new album - the usually press averse artist reflects on the freedom of his earlier material, the paradox of fame and the new epiphanies that come when you pour into another life.

As he puts it: “I was turning into a legitimate recluse. Then the baby came and, like, there's just shit you have to do. Your capacity for everything gets bigger.”
